As the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are presently investigating the possibility of implementing 24/7 trading hours for US capital markets, several conventional financial exchanges have submitted applications to extend their operating hours in anticipation of such a regulatory shift.
